Jesus Dragged Into Ethics Debate Members of the North Carolines House cast their final votes for Ethics Reforms Thursday. The previous day's debate had addressed the issue of disclosing gifts, and resulted in raising the threshold for disclosure from $200 to $1000. Representative Drew Saunders, a Democrat from Mecklenburg County argued, "Even the baby Jesus accepted gifts, and I don't think it corrupted him." Christianity Is A Chosen Behavior The L.A. Times erred when it reported that Gregory Baylor of the Christian Legal Society "viewed homosexuality as a lifestyle choice." In today's corrections the L.A. Times states that Baylor "supports policies that protect people from discrimination based on race, gender, and other inborn traits...," but not protections based on people's behavior such as homosexuality, and presumably, religion. Churchgoer Kills Self, Family Three murder/suicides have rocked Koreatown in Los Angeles in recent weeks. One family had joined the local First Church of the Nazarene in Hollywood, and had attended faithfully. There were no signs of trouble apparent to those around them. Roger Warren Evans, 53, a prayer counselor at Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), and a Bible study teacher, turned himself into the police this week for molesting a young boy. The assaults took place over a two year period at the First Advent Christian Church in Tustin, beginning when the boy was 9.
