"Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting."
Daniel 5:27

Boy, do I feel stupid! When I first heard this verse as a child at Bible camp I thought it meant that it was wrong to DESIRE, to want things!! I felt so guilty about wanting that it blinded me to the real meaning of the verse, which is that King Belshazzar was spending too much time at the water cooler.
The important thing here is that feelings of guilt and shame can keep us from understanding what the word of god really means. We need to forget what fearful people have taught us about God and go at it all again with a fresh mind.
"God grant me the perspicacity
to cut through the bullshit."
