"The time has come for the church to surrender its neurotic pattern of trafficking in one feeble religious secuity system after another and to allow its people to feel the bracing wind of insecurity, so that Christians might understand what it means to walk by faith."

CONTRIBUTERS
Adult Christianity owes much of its success to the commitment of our readers the world over. We are so thankful for the personal stories that you've shared with us, for the letters, tracts, books, tapes and videos. Our readers make this site something we look forward to working on each month and we could not do it without them.

We also want to thank the following for their contributions to the site:

Pete Aitken
Resident Cultural Critic. Pete Aitken writes the column Lights, Camera, Blaspehy and has contributed articles on The Bible Code and the Filmography of Jesus. Mr. Aitken also produces the web sites Race Traitor and X/RE.

Mrs. Betty Bowers
Mrs. Bowers is a Christian homemaker from Lithonia, Georgia. She and her husband Bruce have two wonderful, heterosexual Christian children: Billy is currently attending Bob Jones University and his hobbies include tap-dancing-in-tongues, performing in non-profane musical theater and knitting smart sweater sets for his loving and most appreciative mother. Mrs. Bowers is proud to say that, as a dutiful Christian, Billy has reluctantly vowed to not so much as kiss a girl until he marries. Their daughter Adel is about to enter as a freshman at DeVry Institute, where she will major in credit-card collections. From 1980 to 1995, Mrs. Bowers was president of Bringing Integrity To Christian Homemakers, where she selflessly followed the lead of her mentor Mrs. Phyllis Schlafly, spending over 200 nights a year going from town to town lecturing homemakers on their mandatory Christian obligation to stay home with their children. Since 1995, Mrs. Bowers has headed Traditional-families Raging Against Sluts and Homos (TRASH), writing monthly pamphlets to protect traditional family values. Her latest: "A Guide to the Perfect Christian Hostess: How to Avoid the Embarrassment of Allowing into your Christian Home People who are Ultimately Going Straight to Hell." She currently co-writes Biting Our Tongues for Adult Christianity, whose editor is going straight to Hell.

Bill Geerhart
Worries friends with his real or ironic obsessions (Court TV/OJ/Crime; Dan Quayle; civil defense; talk-radio; televised religion; abstinence) and his pilgrimages to presidential and vice-presidential libraries. A collection of his strange calls to talk-shows from the '70s and '80s will be released later this year on Teen Beat records. Bill authored Chrisitan Sex Ed. LP's for the August 1998 issue of Adult Christianity and has been featured in the magazine SNAKEOIL.

Ron Hogan
of Beatrice.com. Read Ron's reviews of James Dobson's War on America, Jesus, CEO, and Stealing Jesus.

Steve Hogan
Illustrator. Steve does software animation for learning impaired children and aspires to make comics for taste impaired adults. Steve considers "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" to be the apex of modern art and hopes someday to play the part of "the plucky existentialist with a heart of gold" in a world war 2 action film. Steve welcomes correspondence from wealthy patrons of the arts, but will settle for losers with an axe to grind.

Belinda Hogjowl
Belinda lives in Atlanta and spends much of her time (and money) worshipping the deity Armani (she is pleased to announce the recent investiture of Miuccia Prada into her Pantheon). Being rather adept at convincingly throwing her voice, Belinda briefly enjoyed the hobby of projecting the Virgin Mary for the enthrallment of visiting busloads of pilgrims. After a group of Evangelical women trekked her unpaved driveway on their knees and their bloody kneecaps had permanently stained two of her most valuable Persian prayer rugs, Belinda reluctantly discontinued the apparitions at the request of her husband. Once an avid church-goer, she now finds it fits more comfortably into her schedule and tax bracket to simply purchase indulgences from the Catholic Church each December. She enjoys reading the great fiction writers, such as Dickens (favorite 'Great Expectations'), Austen (favorite 'Sense and Sensibility'), Joyce (favorite 'Ulysses') and God (favorite 'Old Testament.' The 'New Testament', as is so often the case with rushed sequels, lacks the quirky sense of high-drama of the original). She currently co-writes Biting Our Tongues and interviewed the Blessed Virgin Mary for Adult Christianity.

Carolize Jansen
South African Correspondent. Ms. Jansen, born in 1974, is too young to have ever voted during the Apartheid years but very much part of the white system through school and church affiliations. She has studied various languages and is currently looking for employment that would encompass her interest in environmentalism and cultural studies coupled with film and other media. Ms. Jansen writes on culture and environmentalism for several South African magazines. She has written Religion and Apartheid and Pop Paranoia in South Africa for Adult Christianity.

Kevin Lambert
is our scandals editor. He authored the three-part Scandals in Eden, about evangelists Billy James Hargis, Reverend Harold Davidson, and other miscellaneous misdemeanors. He also covered the Christian Action Network's exhibit on Degenerate Art.

Judy Sitz
Graphics Designer. Ms. Sitz most recently worked on the Letterman show in New York. She has also worked for Maidenform, Great American Home Cooking magazine and Trouser Press. Her photography appears on the cover of RE/Search Publication's Search and Destroy Reprint Volume 1.

Ken Sitz
Public Relations and Publicity. Ken Sitz roadied for The Dead Boys, designed their logo, and managed the band Konk in New York. He did publicity for 999 records and deejayed as Mr. Mod Monday at Tramps. He played for the bands Khymer Rouge and The Yorks which appeared at CBGBs, Max's Kansas City, The Mudd Club and Tier 3. Mr. Sitz was featured in RE/Search Publication's Incredibly Strange Music, Volume 2 and wrote Incredibly Strange Religious Records for Adult Christianity.

Reverend Randall Tin-Ear
of The Angry Thoreauan. Read his article, The Design of the Alternative Christian Nation

Dwayne Walker
of Corinthians Films. Mr. Walker Walker is a film producer working in Los Angeles. His book, Spring Break Missionaries, is on sale in our Illiteralist Bookstore. Read Dwayne Walker's interview with Miss Poppy. Mr. Walker offers invaluable assistance to Adult Christianity as a correspondent and consultant on all thing fundamentalist.

Dean Worbois
Read Constructing the Testaments, America, NOT a Christian Nation, and Giordano Bruno: Remembering a Martyr for Liberty.
