FEBRUARY 1998

Thanks again for your exciting publication, which always makes me laugh out loud. (I just can't tell people in Atlanta why I'm laughing--they'd pray for my soul--or maybe, have me arrested.

Just discovered your site a few days ago. It's perfect for those of us who were raised fundie and can't completely shake it even though it drives us nuts. I appreciate that you're able to laugh at the excesses of organized Xtianity without getting all smug and meanspirited. I feel defensive when the secular media laughs at Christians. They may be sumbitches, but they're OUR sumbitches.

Hi there, I throughly enjoyed your site, was very informative and fun, thought you might like to hear that.

I appreciate your thorough research of the Bible. It must have taken a great deal of time and I applaud you.

I had an abortion at the age of 17. While I am not religious and am not interested in becoming a part of any organized religion, I have to tell you I am very impressed with your views on how the Bible sees abortion. For the last 10 yrs I have had to endure many different views that are solely based on that particular persons spiritual beliefs. I am heartened to know not everyone, feels I will go to hell. I will say, one of the people I found most comforting for the first while was a friend who was brought up in a very strict and religious family, she was caring, even though she would not choose the same course that I did. I would like to say one last thing, I would not go back and do it again, and I will never forget, but I am glad I had the choice. Thank-you.

If one can not trust a woman to make such an important decision about her life and even more important a childs life...than how can you trust her to raise a child. I can not understand how these people that call themselves "Christians" feel that they are of place to judge and condemn the women that reserve their right for abortion. My God is not quite as evil and codemning...He loves all, no one should fear Him.

I found your website useful for a high school prochoice/life essay. Thank you

My mother, a very religious woman, stated that aboration is wrong. I asked "Mom, what do you think happens to a person who dies in infancy, do they go to heaven or hell"? She replied"They go to heaven, they have not sinned". Then I asked "How many people living today do you think will go to heaven"? Mom: "not very many". Me: "10%"? Mom "Not that many". Me: "look at what you would do. "Here is a woman carrying a fetus which she wants to abort, in which case you think it would go straight to heaven but you would not let her do that. instead, you would insist that the fetus be born and go thru this life after which it had more than a 90% chance of going to hell. Do you think you would really be doing that fetus a favor?"

Being a teenager I can see both sides of the issue. I have always been taught, though that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. How can any one person make the choice of life for another be it mother or child. It is hard to understand how such God loving people can be so judgemental and even threaten the lives of others.

Thank God for your web page. I found the decision to have an abortion the hardest decision I have ever had to make! It is refreshing to see a page that doesn't say I will rot in hell.

I believe that abortion a not killing life and that it sould be legal in any state in the United States. This is not an issue that concerns killing, but an issue about the right to choose.

Thank you for such interesting information. As a young, pro-choice woman and an employee of a family planning organization I have always supported a woman's right to do what she chooses with her body. I've struggled for a long time to understand the abortion issue as it relates to Christianity and God. The information you have provided is both informative and has eased my mind. THANK YOU!

I want to say that this info. was very helpful. I have a contreversal research paper to do and I picked pro-abortion, so this info. backs up a lot for me when it comes to doing the paper
nice work

Thank you so much for setting my mind and heart as ease for what I am about to do. Two years ago I almost died giving birth to my daughter. I had HELLP Syndrome and she was taken 10 weeks early. I just found out I am pregnant again and I can not face going thru it again. The doctors say it won't happen again but there is no gaurentee. My daughter needs me not a sibling.

I am not a Christian . I do not believe - I never have. I believe in freedom to express thoughts and ideas, I believe in the personal choice to act and behave in a ways that are kind and humane. I have read the bible as literature. I found the new testament(I am not sure what version) to be one of the most compelling moral doctrines available. Hence, I am not a Christian, but am a student and believer in the lessons taught in the new testament.

It is because of this respect for the New Testament and Jesus as a moral figure that I am so appaled by the e-mail sent to you by the self proclaimed Christians. The language, fire and brimstone damnation - the overwhelming hate in their tone is unsettling. Over and again they accuse you of not reading or distorting the bible - the irony. If there was, or is, a Jesus he certainly would be ashamed.

I can not quote the bible as some of your readers - but I never remember Jesus recruiting soldiers to spread his message of hate and damnation.

Good luck with your efforts - keep the debate alive.

love the page. have you done anything on genesis? those patriarchs and their wife/sisters are the type of trailer trash that even jerry springer wouldn't have on his show. thanks!

Just want to tell you what a FANTASTIC web cite I think you have and how much I enjoy it. Seriously, thanks so very much for your contribution. While I've found most of what you've written immensely amusing, I've also found it quite healing. My guess is that it will prove similarly helpful for most of us whose childhoods were of a particular Christian sort. Thanks again!

was just re-reading your 'reader mail' column - the pros & fauxs...feel free to print that this old geezer thinks you're the bees knees. Smart, articulate, good lookin' AND ya claim to make a dynomite meatloaf. How many assets can one gal have?

Love your [February] issue. The poll is hysterical. Also the Colson cartoon was really funny. Great job.

Thanks again, and by the way my mother thought the Emergency Baptism Kit was fantastic. I gave her mine, along with the Shard of the True Cross. She mailed them to the local bishop. No word on his reaction yet :).

Love ya, Poppy. Keep up the good work.

I am writing to you to tell you how informative POSTFUN has been. I learned alot and hope to learn more off your website. I've been browsing the web and your page seems to stick out the most.

Thanx alot Post Fun for everything.

I've just discovered your site and thought I'd congratulate you on the content which in the words of the Chinese curse is "interesting". I've only had a quick breeze through it so far but I'll be back as its good to find a Christian site the dares to think beyond the conventional whether or not I agree with everything in it (which i'd be suprised if I did) - hoping you keep it going at least until the second coming.

I don't consider myself to be christian, but it's nise to see that not all christians are the pro-life activists that have been ramming there misguided views down my throat for the better part of my life

power to you
