I'm glad that some of these people KNOW that you're misconstruing the true meaning of Scripture. But I suppose they would know seeing as they can read God's mind.

About 3 years ago I had an abortion, and I was destroyed. Destroyed at the fact that I went against my religion, and had people tell me I would go to hell. There's not a day in my life that I wasnt upset or didn't cry. I thought I let God down and that he would never forgive me...I lived with this guilt until I read this article. Whomever wrote this continue the amazing work, the Lord gave you a gift keep using it..You've helped me in many ways that I wish you knew how grateful I truly am. Now Whenever I hear someone degrade another person that the Lord will never forgive them, and they will go to hell, I will just sit back and laugh of how truly ignorant people can be. Thanx and God Bless....

Poppy, I love you. Please don't freak out-it's just that your site has kept me up all night and it's now 9AM. I found it as I was looking for a book "who tampered with the bible?" and hit your read the bible tracts. And up to this glorious morning, struggling to stay awake long enough to write this, I thought I was the only one who looks at "God's Word" with intelligence, logic, faith, and with the realization it was Jesus who died for us. Not Paul, Jacob, Moses, Peter, John(or whoever really wrote the Gospels-Mary Magdelene?)... certainly not Pat Robertson and the rest of those huckster/traitors! Not that I agree with everything you say or post-but if everybody agreed with everybody else, this would be a bland world.

Hello? Is everyone pro-life psycho or am I just imagining things? Don't shove religion down my throat! If I go to hell for having an abortion is that affecting any of you pro-lifers? Why worry about it? If you don't have the abortion, how is that affecting you? The right to control one's body is a fundamental right--not a Constitutional right of legal entitlement and no one should be able to tell me what to do with my body. Thank you very much!

It is nice to know that there are still thinking Christians out there. Generally, "thinking Christian" is an oxymoron. Thank you for showing this is not always the case.

I was also reading the "friend and faux" letters -- what's with all the pro-life nutbars, anyway? The funniest thing is that as far as I could tell, you never actually claimed that fetuses aren't living, let alone that abortion is anything other than a necessary evil. You're simply saying that there's no *Biblical* basis for the anti-choice stance. Here's something else that I read: up until the late 19th century, the Catholic church upheld Aquinas' "Doctrine of Passive Conception", which stated that the soul arrived during the fifth month of pregnancy, before which time the fetus was soulless. In 1869 Pius X declared that the soul arrived at conception. But the church was really only following man-made laws, which had pronounced abortion a crime some thirty years earlier. (In any case, the Inquisition had tortured and burned plenty of pregnant women.)

Great site! I live in the land of Falwell and Robertson (Virginia) and can use a good laugh. The Christian coalition has bought and paid for MANY of our elected officials. Most of our politicians lack the guts or the integrity to stand up to the fanatics. You site definitely helps renew my faith that there are people out there who see what's happening and aren't afraid to speak the truth about it. Sure wish you lived out here Id nominate you for Governor. Of course if you lived out here you would probably be promptly censored and then outlawed!

I just have to say that so many of those messages in your "Faux" section, defending their various "Christian" views really make me laugh. Many of them are written with poor English, poor grammar, and poor spelling. Hey, I'm not the world's best author, but dammit, if I was going to defend the LORD of the UNIVERSE, you can damn well bet I'm not going to write it in all UPPER-CASE, would spell check the stupid thing, and at least would reread it for errors before I hit send.

I enjoy all your articles, pictures, and e-mail. This is one of the best sites on the Web and I have told everybody I treasure to check it out.

I couldn't help noticing that most of the "faux" e-mailers cannot spell. It is obvious they were in Bible class when they should have been sitting through English 101. The Friends seem to have passed the course. Believers seem to come from the ranks of the semi-literate.

Bravo! Yours is the kind of site that is like a breath of fresh air. I live and work in a culture of intolerance (oklahoma city) and yours is a site that brings a bit of ease to my soul.

As a supporter of separation of church and state I salute your great work. The constitution and the law are of and by the people. The law of "God" is a personal choice. Some choose to follow the law of God, who is going to help the rest of us if they have their way? Very scary.
