N E W S - August, 1999 OY, HOMEBOY!08.19.99 Gulfport, Mississippi Ryan Green, 15, is filing a law suit against the Mississippi school board for declaring the Star of David a "gang symbol" and banning it from the school grounds. Mr. Green received the pin from his grandmother. His father is Jewish, his mother is a Christian. When Mr. Green wore the pin to school a teacher told him to pin it inside his shirt "for his own good." Later the school board banned it entirely. The ACLU and Southern Poverty Law Center have expressed an interest in the case. The ACLJ remains strangely silent. SOURCE: Yahoo! + + + CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN07.27.99 Woodbine, Maryland Pastor Joyce Perdue, of Faith Outreach ministry in Woodbine, Maryland was sentenced to 27 months in prison and ordered to pay $65,000 back pay to the Estonian children she defrauded. Perdue and two associates, also charged, smuggled Estonian children into the US, forcing them to work 15-hour days cleaning roach-infested apartments, the profits of which went to support the pastors' lavish lifestyles. The children were promised a Christian education. Pastor Perdue told the court, "I never remember abusing them." Pastor Moody, 52, hung out in the airport concourse videotaping under womens' skirts as they rode up the escalators. One mother confronted the pastor who claimed he wasn't doing anything. Spaulding, 47, unassociated with any church, has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for molesting four young girls. Pastor Spaulding held services for young children in his home, including "sleepovers." Mrs. Rousonelos, in charge of the church's day care program, plunged a knife into her husband's groin, severing a major artery killing him within minutes. Mario Beato-Prieto, 35, a Catholic priest who runs a parochial school in the Philippines, is under church arrest, charged with foreign transport of false documents. Father Beato-Prieto, who had taken a vow of poverty, was caught attempting to smuggle 2.4 billion in fake Treasury notes into the country. He also approached young boys in Internet chat rooms and would then attempt to telephone them.
