Bible School Teacher Arrested for Multiple Murders
1.3.98 - Brussels, BELGIUM

The Reverend Andras Pandy, an immigrant clergyman from Hungary, and his sex-slave daughter have been arrested for the murders of two of Pandy's wives, and four of his children. Andras Pandy had made Agnes his sexual partner when she was thirteen and coerced her into committing murders for him soon after.

Pandy taught religion classes to students between the ages of 11 and 18. He has been described as "authoritarian, secretive, charming, a swindler and a freeloader." Police have uncovered a human skull, a wisdom tooth, finger bones, three kneecaps and various decayed clothes from an excavation in Pandy's basement.

It Can't Happen Here
1.3.98 - Cairo

Armed Islamic terrorists, members of the GIA, murdered 412 men, women and children in Algeria during the first day of Ramadan. Most had their throats cut though babies were smashed against walls. The religious fundamentalists believe they are doing God's work by killing non-believers and those involved in Algeria's secular government.

Conservative estimates suggest that more than 65,000 people have been killed in these attacks since 1992. Amnesty International estimates the number of deaths closer to 80,000.

The Sheep are Fleeced
1.16.98 - Chesapeake, VA

The Christian Coalition is suing Hart Conover, the company that handles their direct mail fundraising. Apparantly Hart Conover made the Coalition's mailing list available to a rival organization.

The Christian Coalition claims that this is part of the reason the organization has experienced a drop in donations. They made $17 million in 1997, "a four-year low and down 36% from 1996." The good news is it's still more than they earned during the middle ages.
