Another Notch on the Bible Belt
12.01.97 - Denver, CO

Colorado Springs and neighboring Denver Colorado are home to dozens of fundamentalist Christian organizations including James Dobson's Focus on the Family. Many of these groups, including Focus on the Family, are openly hostile to queers, independent women, immigrants and the poor. So it should come as no surprise that this environment gives rise to some of the most violent hate crimes in recent history.

Last week skinhead John Thill and an accomplice shot and killed black immigrant Oumar Dia and shot and wounded Jeannie Van Velkinburg, a mother of two. On November 12, skinhead Matthaeus Jaehnig, the son of a minister, shot and killed Officer Bruce Vander Jagt.

Perhaps these young men were never taught that Jesus was black.

We would be more inclined to call it a miracle if she'd grown 5 additional tits.

Eracism
11.13.97 - Athens

Eager to bring others to Christ members of Greece's elite anti-terrorist squad videotaped their efforts to "baptize" an Albanian immigrant. With gunfire going off in the background the video shows the anti-terrorists pushing a man into the mud and "baptizing" him with retsina, an impertinent Greek wine. No one knows what eventually became of the man.

The video begins with an anti-terrorist looking into the camera saying, "This can be erased, right?" Since the video has come to light two men have been suspended and others are under investigation.
