Dear Reader,
The purpose of the Adult Christian Sex Tour is to expose things that organized religions have hoped would stay swept under the rug. After all, Christianity is NOT about sexuality, right? That may be true for the religious right but this is ADULT Christianity. This ain't your father's religion.
The mission of Jesus may not have been to redeem sexuality, per se. But there was nothing in his life that indicated a denigration or avoidance of sex. He was a friend to women in a culture where men did not speak to women in public, let alone sleep in their houses. While there is nothing recorded on the sexuality of Jesus there is a strong possibility that he WAS actually married.(1)
After the death of Jesus competing groups of Christians adapted his teachings to their own spiritual and political needs. It's not surprising, in a culture that increasingly depreciated sex of any kind, that its suppression should be institutionalized by the church. But that by no means makes it 'Christian.'
The suppression of sexuality has been far from successful and sex continues to rear its pretty little head at the most inopportune moments. We have collected some of these and present them to you here in this tour. We also challenge traditional beliefs regarding what the Bible 'says' about sex. And, there's some silly stuff thrown in to keep it interesting.
We've been accused of seeing sex where it doesn't exist, of having a dirty mind. But hey, it's a dirty mind in the service of God. So enjoy the tour and let us know what you think.
