Tenets: What We Believe
Tenets +++ Symbols +++ Information

TENETS, ANYONE?

1. We seek no signs. We do not wait for the second coming of Christ nor do we anticipate the last days. Reference

2. The existence of God does not rest on proof nor even on belief. Therefore we encourage the participation of doubters, agnostics, atheists and unbelievers of every kind.

3. We avoid doctrinal descension by subscribing to the most basic commandments of Christ. Reference

4. Each person's faith, or lack thereof, is between that person and their conception of God or their own conscience. Reference

5. We believe that God alone has the power to bestow life. Life begins when a child is given its first breath from God. To believe that life begins at conception is idolatry and blasphemy. Reference

6. We cherish the things that we share, the most precious of these being the differences between us. We value the richness that this brings to our lives. We strive for tolerance and understanding and devote ourselves to protecting the rights of individuals, especially those with the least resources. Reference

7. We do not judge people based on gender issues. What happens between people's legs is nobodies' business but their own. Reference

8. We believe that the grace of God should be extended to all, including unbelievers. As Postfundamentalists and Americans we believe in extending hospitality to all our citizens and guests. Reference

9. We believe in letting the grace of God speak for itself. We do not force our beliefs on others but insist that all be allowed to find God in their own way. Therefore we support the strict separation of church and state. We believe that religious organizations must contribute, through payment of taxes, to the government that protects their free expression. Reference

10. All are welcome and free to JOIN Postfundamentalist Ministries. We are the second major religious organization in the United States to open our membership to the dead. We are the FIRST to open it to the unwilling. Members are encouraged to sponsor memberships for family, friends, co-workers politicians, celebrities, etc., living or dead. The only qualification is that they have been actually born once. We welcome the living, dead, pre-dead, un-dead, willing, and unwilling. (At the moment there is a debate among the members about admission of the fictional to membership. Though we hate to be accused of real-ism, at the present time we are concerned about diminishing the credibility of the organization.)

OUR SYMBOLS

The logo for Postfundamentalim represents several things. First the face of a clock, showing the lateness of the day. The Roman numeral XII represents both the 12 of midday and midnight as well as the original 12 followers of Christ. The "hands of the clock" also represent a cross toppling off a globe. We honor the words and the deeds of the living Christ and reject the culture of death and terror that rests on the cult of the cross.

It's Later Than You Think

Christ lived in the here and now. What we were and are instructed to do is to "love one another," NOW. The future is a thing of the past.

"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:34

But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon those we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care for one another.
