Are You Prepared?

NUCLEAR WAR...CAN IT BE SURVIVED?
Many people are asking this question and the answer is not easy! There are several factors that can affect survival, such as; the amount of exposure to nuclear rays, power and distance of the blast, winds that carry fallout and your shelter form the fallout.

WHAT ABOUT PREPARATION?
According to a Reader's Digest article (Feb., 1978), Russia at that time had compulsory civil-defense training from the second grade through age 60. Every factory had blast resistand underground shelters and they had huge underground food storage facilities. It was estimated that 97% of the Russian people could survive.

America is depending on a Pentagon "Doomsday Paln" of evacuating 135 million people from 400 target areas, to locations 20 to 150 miles away from their homes. Cities the size of Dallas may be evacuated in only 44 hours, IF...THERE ARE NO TRAFFIC JAMS. But there is only 30 minutes "missle time" from Russia, even less from Cuba or a submarine...near on of our shores.

HOW FAR AWAY FROM THE BLAST IS "SAFE"?
According to Atomic Energy Commission information, a 25-megaton nuclear weapon could: destroy all houses within a 30 mile circle, cause first degree burns up to 50 miles, blind people up to 700 miles (if exposed to the flash), and bring death to 50% of all persons up to 400 miles downwind, because of the fallout.

IS THERE ANY HOPE...
FOR PHYSICAL SURVIVAL? YES, IF you are far enough away from the blast, IF you are not caught outside and exposed directly to the flash, IF your injuries are not too sever (You can't depend on hospital or medical care being available.), IF you can get into a fallout shelter (You had best take your own food and water.), IF you can cope with the world the is left.

FOR ETERNAL SURVIVAL? YES, THERE IS MUCH MORE HOPE!
Following the TV Nuclear War Movie, "The Day After," a panel of specialists could not guarantee a solution to prevent Nuclear War. One of them did wisely say, "Nuclear Weapons don't cause war. Political crisis, tensions and UNCONTROLLED AMBITIONS cause war." THis madness of Nuclear War IS DUE TO MAN'S SINS of pride, rebellion and greed. The end result of all sin is SPIRITUAL DEATH, eternal separation from God in Hell.

Spiritual death is MUCH WORSE than physical death, even by the horrors of Nuclear War! As bad as it might be, to die suffering from burns and radiation sickness...think how bad it would be to spend all eternity...in HELL. This is a lake, burning FOREVER with fire and brimstone (sulpher). It is prepared for the devil, his angels (demons) AND ALL UNSAVED PEOPLE (Matthew 10:28; 25:41; Revelation 20:10, 11-15).

IS SPIRITUAL SURVIVAL POSSIBLE?
YES...not only possible, but GUARANTEED...

God has ALREADY PROVIDED for our SPIRITUAL SURVIVAL in etermity with Him! The Bible says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23).

Question: How can we prepare to survive death...from nuclear war or any other form of death, and prepare to live NOW...and forever in fellowship with God?

ANSWER: Repent of our sins and BY FAITH ALONE, receive God's gift of eternal life, paid for by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross.

RESPONSE: Admitting my sins and my need for God's guarantee of SPIRITUAL SURVIVAL, I now place my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ (100%) for my salvation.
