PHOTOS: The Cast Of NCIS Then & Now

Beginning in 2003, the cast of the hit series NCIS worked together, solved cases, and took down bad guys. While there have been some series regulars, guest stars pop into the show now and again.

But what is everyone up to now? From working on other shows and films to switching over to voice acting and even writing books, here is what the cast of NCIS is up to today.

Troian Bellisario

Actress Troian Bellisario started her career at the young age of three. Years later, she found herself in two episodes of NCIS, playing the role of Sarah McGee, the sister of Special Agent Timothy McGee.

Fast forward to 2010, and Bellisario landed one of the main roles in the teen drama Pretty Little Liars, portraying one of the “liars” Spencer Hastings and her identical twin Alex Drake, but that’s a long and complicated story.

Tamara Taylor

Actress Tamara Taylor only appeared on NCIS as Special Agent Cassie Yates for two episodes, but she made a lasting impression. Since her time with the show, Taylor landed the main role of Dr. Camille Saroyan in the popular series Bones.

After the final season of Bones, Taylor continued acting, finding an antagonist role in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the main role in Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Lauren Holly

Lauren Holly joined the NCIS cast in season two as Director Jenny Shepard, leaving the cast after her character’s death at the end of season five. Since NCIS, Holly has continued to work on various projects in Hollywood.

Holly had main roles in the television series Motive and Tiny Pretty Things while also appearing on popular series such as Lucifer, Good Witch, and Alphas.

Sarah Jane Morris

The character Special Agent Erica Jane “EJ” Barrett was a recurring presence on NCIS from 2011 until 2012, played by actress Sarah Jane Morris. Fans of the show might recognize Morris from her time as Julie Walker on Brothers & Sisters prior to NCIS.

After leaving the cast, Morris was cast as a one-off character for numerous shows, including Criminal Minds, Mad Men, and Grey’s Anatomy.

Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown guest-starred on NCIS for one episode as the young daughter of a victim the team was investigating. From there, Brown’s career skyrocketed.

In 2016, she landed the main role of Eleven in the hit series Stranger Things. Brown also plays the role of Enola, the sister of Sherlock Holmes, in the Netflix film Enola Holmes.

Joel Gretsch

Special Agent Stan Burley appeared in four episodes of NCIS, played by actor Joel Gretsch. While his role was small, Gretsch had a way of standing out amongst the main cast.

He continued to shine in Hollywood, taking on projects such as Scott Chandler in Burn Notice, Hank Thompson in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and Peter Maxwell in The Vampire Diaries.

Alicia Coppola

Alicia Coppola went from hosting an MTV game show to appearing on NCIS as Lt. Commander Faith Coleman in three episodes. The actress didn’t stop there!

Coppola went on to appear in numerous other television shows, even landing some of the main roles. Her filmography includes Blood & Treasure, Criminal Minds, Shameless, and many more.

Jaime Murray

English actress Jaime Murray played the role of ICE Agent Julia Foster-Yates in one episode of NCIS. While she didn’t return to the show after the single episode, Murray found her way to other popular television shows produced in Hollywood.

Murray played the recurring role of Gaia in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Antoinette in The Originals, and Nyssa al Ghul in Gotham.

Joe Spano

After moving to Hollywood in the late 1970s, Joe Spano quickly became a stage actor and familiar face on television, starring in shows such as Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue, and Murder One.

In 2003, he landed the main role of FBI Special Agent Tobias Fornell on NCIS. Since landing the part, Spano has worked on a few other projects, including Frost/Nixon, The Mentalist, and Pearson.

Kiara Muhammad

Kiara Muhammad started her career as a model for the athletic company Reebok. From there, she landed the role of Kayla Vance in four episodes of NCIS.

From there, Muhammad went on to appear in a few shows, including episodes of S.W.A.T, Dave, and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

David McCallum

While actor David McCallum is arguably best known from the spy fiction series The Man From U.N.C.L.E., he has been part of the main NCIS cast since 2003, playing the role of the oh-so-popular Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard, the team’s chief medical examiner. The main role didn’t stop McCallum from pursuing other projects, though.

In 2016, he wrote a crime novel titled Once a Crooked Man. McCallum has also used his voice in various animated shows, including Batman vs. Robin, where he voices Alfred Pennyworth.

Diane Neal

Diane Neal played the role of CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin in not only NCIS but also the spin-off series NCIS: New Orleans. In total, Neal appeared in ten episodes throughout the franchise.

While Neal did stick with a few television shows post-NCIS, she also moved into film, appearing in A Warden’s Ransom, The Emissary, and Circle of Deception.

Cote De Pablo

Cote de Pablo played the fan-favorite character of former Israeli Mossad agent Ziva David for a total of 194 episodes on NCIS. After leaving the main cast, she went on to pursue other projects in Hollywood, including music.

De Pablo played the role of Jessica Vega in The 33, where she also appeared on the film’s soundtrack, singing “Gracias a la Vida.”

Duane Henry

Starting as nothing more than a guest role in season 13, Duane Henry’s character of M16 agent Henry Reeves got promoted to a full-time cast member for season 14. Sadly, the writers didn’t know where his character was going, so they killed him off.

It didn’t matter, though. Henry went on to appear in some amazing projects, including the MCU film Captain Marvel.

Mark Harmon

When it comes to NCIS, Mark Harmon is arguably the face of the series, playing the lead role of Special Agent Leroy Gibbs in the series.

While Harmon hasn’t worked on much since he’s been busy with NCIS, he has made time to voice his character on Family Guy and appear in the spin-off series NCIS: New Orleans, where he was also an executive producer.

Daniela Sofia Korn Ruah

In 2009, Daniela Sofia Korn Ruah landed the role of Kensi Blye in two pilot episodes of NCIS. From there, she became one of the main cast members for the spin-off series NCIS: Los Angeles, appearing in a total of 277 episodes and one cross-over episode with Hawaii Five-0.

In 2018, it was announced Ruah would be hosting the Eurovision Song Contest.

Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis is arguably one of the more famous faces to appear on NCIS. In the series, she played the role of Dr. Samantha Ryan for five episodes. Of course, this was post-Halloween and even Freaky Friday!

Since her NCIS days, Curtis has appeared in numerous critically acclaimed projects, including Knives Out, Scream Queens, and two other films in the Halloween universe.

Brian Dietzen

When Brian Dietzen was introduced on NCIS as Dr. Jimmy Palmer, it was as a recurring character. Starting in season 10, he was promoted to a full-time cast member, with his name appearing in the opening credits.

Since his promotion on NCIS, Dietzen hasn’t expanded his resume, appearing in the series Perception and not much else.

Pauley Perrette

Pauley Perrette played the fan-favorite role of the quirky forensic scientist Abby Sciuto for 15 seasons of NCIS. Fans were not too pleased when she opted to leave the series.

Even so, she found a main role in the sitcom Broke and also co-owns Donna Bell’s Bake Shop in Manhattan, New York.

Mary Mouser

For six episodes, Mary Mouser played the role of Kelly Gibbs, the daughter of Mark Harmon’s Leroy Gibbs, on NCIS. After leaving the show, Mouser found a whole lot of success in television, landing many lead roles.

Her most notable role is arguably that of Samantha “Sam” LaRusso in the hit series Cobra Kai.

Jessica Steen

For the first four seasons of NCIS, Jessica Steen played the role of Special Agent Paula Cassidy. Eventually, the character was killed off, and Steen went on to pursue other opportunities, most notably her main role as Lisa Stillman in Heartland.

Aside from her entertainment career, Steen is also a huge animal rights supporter and environmentalist and is an avid supporter of the World Society for the Protection of Animals and the Western Canadian Wilderness Committee.

Meredith Eaton

Actress Meredith Eaton got her start on an episode of NYPD Blue. From there, she kind of stuck with the crime genre, appearing in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Family Law, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

On NCIS, she played the role of CDC researcher and lab technician Carol Wilson in four episodes. Then, in 2021, she landed the main role of Matilda “Matty” Webber in McGyver.

Weronika Rosati

Weronika Rosati played the role of Rivka David, the mother of main character Ziva, in one episode of NCIS, as well as a few flashbacks.

A Polish actress, Rosati’s resume revolves around Polish entertainment, with a few American titles thrown into the mix, including True Detective, Supernatural, and The Detour.

Rocky Carroll

Actor Rocky Carroll not only stars as Director Leon Vance on NCIS and the spin-off series NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans, but he has also directed 15 of the episodes as of 2022.

Aside from his time as part of the main cast, Carroll has also voiced the character of Silas Stone and Perry White in the animated films The Death of Superman and Reign of the Superman.

Margo Harshman

For 16 episodes of NCIS, Margo Harshman played the role of Department of Defense intelligence analyst Delilah Fielding, the wife of Special Agent Timothy McGee. After her time on the popular series, Harshman landed a one-time role on How I Met Your Father.

Other than that, Harshman seems to be living a quiet life in Los Angeles, California.

Pancho Demmings

For 15 episodes from 2003 to 2005, Pancho Demmings played the role of assistant medical examiner Gerald Jackson. To NCIS fans’ surprise, he abruptly left the show after his character was shot (not fatally).

Even so, Demmings went on to appear in other projects, including 24, General Hospital, and Tyler and Borelli.

Juliette Angelo

Actress Juliette Angelo appeared in eight episodes of NCIS, playing the role of Tobias Fornell’s daughter, Emily. Even though she was a very young actress when she left NCIS, it didn’t stop her from continuing in Hollywood.

Angelo also appeared in ten episodes of the series Shameless, an episode of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and the film I’ll Be Next Door For Christmas.

Maria Bello

From season 15 through season 18 of NCIS, Maria Bello played the role of Dr. Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane. After being part of the main cast for a few years, Bello said goodbye to NCIS and hello to new opportunities in Hollywood, namely film.

In 2018 alone, Bello appeared in the movies Every Day, Better Start Running, and Giant Little Ones.

Susanna Thomson

Susanna Thompson portrayed Army Lt. Col. Hollis Mann on NCIS for eight episodes. After her time on the show, Thompson pursued other projects in Hollywood, appearing in numerous other television shows.

Some of her more notable projects include Arrow, where she plays the role of Moira Queen, the mother of the Green Arrow.

Abigail Breslin

Actress Abigail Breslin was a child when she was cast as Sandy Watson on one episode of NCIS. From there, Breslin’s career skyrocketed. She moved from television to film and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Little Miss Sunshine. She was ten.
