Jonathan And Drew Scott Prioritized Their Game Room
When brother Jonathan and Drew Scott bought their 4,000-square-foot home in Las Vegas, they prioritized one thing above all else: their game room. In the room, they included a billiards table and a wet bar. And of course, the room wouldn’t be complete without a swimming pool.
The “resort-style” pool is best described as a mini water park. It includes a hot tub, waterslide, and swim-up bar. All it needs is a few slot machines and the Scott brothers would never have to go to a casino again!

Family is important to the Scott brothers, so while they took the time to create their perfect “bro-home,” they also did something nice for their parents. Attached to their Las Vegas abode is a Southwestern-style guest house.

You can call Yip Vern many things, but simple is not one of them. The star of HGTV’s Star, Yip took his love of lavish to the extreme by creating a special home just for his pets.
The incredibly over-the-top doghouse includes never-ending dog treats, a personal den with framed photos, and several cozy dog beds. You may say he’s taken his love for his pets too far, but we’re not sure he’s taken it far enough!
Vern’s Actual Home Is Surprisingly Simple
Vern’s dogs might live in the lap of luxury, but he toned down the over-extravagance for his human family. He still lives in a house built for anyone who loves the elevated style, but he designed everything to be surprisingly simple and practical.
His kids’ rooms, for example, were designed to age with the youngsters. Instead of opting for a more childish color scheme, the renovator chose colors and furniture that will age appropriately with his kids.
David Bromstad’s Home Was Too Colorful
Living in Miami, it’s no surprise that David Bromstad is in love with color. Heck, his show is even called Color Splash! When it came to his own home, however, Bromstad learned there is a limit to how far someone’s love of hues can go.
Today, his house is still full of vibrant color, but not like it used to be, “When I first moved in, I tried to create a whole ‘Mr. Color Splash’ look. I painted the living room walls turquoise and put an orange cover on the couch with red pillows… It was the ugliest thing I’d ever done.”

Any experienced interior decorator would question Genevieve Gorder’s decision to cover her Manhattan apartment in black paint. If you ask her, however, she’d tell you it really brightens the place up, “Place anything in front of black and it becomes more beautiful, more dramatic, and more noticeable.”
Another theme running through the house is Moroccan print. Her bathroom was made with tiny Moroccan tiles. Gorder didn’t overspend importing tiles from Morocco, though. She bought them in Arizona and had them shipped to her space in New York.
Scott McGillivray Moved Into A Canadian Mansion
The host of Income Property took his living situation to new heights when he moved his family to a mansion in Toronto. Once there, he made plenty of renovations, including fixing up the massive kitchen, creating a “femme-den” for his wife with a “dream closet” and a playroom for his kids.
McGillivray didn’t ignore his own needs, building a workshop just for him. The entire house was repainted in a neutral palette, ensuring it won’t go out of style anytime soon.
Chip And Joanna Gaines Bought A Castle
In 2019, Chip and Joanna Gaines proved they deserved to live like royalty when they bought Cottonland Castle in Texas. The property is over 100 years old and was sold to the former Fixer Upper stars for an undisclosed price.
Cottonland was listed at $425,000, a price point the renovators surely eclipsed. Part of the draw of the Waco, Texas property was that it needed heavy renovations, “specific plans have not yet been determined, one thing is for certain: their efforts will focus on fully completing the home’s long overdue and well-deserved restoration.”
A Divorce Changed Christina El Moussa Entirely
Christina El Moussa took the saying, “out with the old, in with the new” to new heights when she divorced Tarek. Without him, she decided she needed a change, and targeted her Orange County house for the makeover.
El Moussa told Elle Decor she, “wanted to change everything.” While some elements remained the same, like the wrought iron details, “I designed everything around this silvery, shimmery look.” One look at the house now and you’d never know El Moussa was married before!

Making the decision to change isn’t easy, but Christina Anstead (formerly El Moussa) jumped at the challenge like a pro. Her new house is best described as being “rustic glam.” She changed everything about the house, updating it was a gray, white, and black palette.
Fans of Flip or Flop have nothing to fear though. The personal style she displayed on the show is still visible. From the reclaimed wood to the lavish chandelier, the house might look different, but it’s still unmistakably Christina Anstead.
Tarek El Moussa Bought A Random House
With his divorce from Christina finalized in January 2018, Tarek El Moussa had one goal: find a new house. He was driving through Costa Mesa, California one day when he spotted the perfect project.
