These Ridiculously Messed Up Food Orders Will Leave You Scratching Your Head

There's no feeling quite like being hungry, getting to a restaurant, and finally ordering that perfect meal you've been craving. But sometimes the order comes out and isn't what you were expecting. Even though that's disappointing, it's usually hilarious to see what comes out of the kitchen. Anyone who's ever had a food order mixed up will definitely appreciate these LOL-worthy mistakes!

Looks Like A Bouquet Of Pickles

This is such a ridiculous amount of pickles that it looks like someone purposely made a bouquet out of them, like they were flowers or something.

The person who shared this said they just asked for "extra pickles" so we wonder what went so wrong that they ended up with nothing but a handful of pickles. There's a little bread peeking out on the side but that's really all we can see other than the pickle party.

Some ordering mix-ups are at least edible in the end. Not this one. Unless you don't mind walking around with raw onion breath all day. But that's a personal decision and we won't judge you too harshly for it.

It's hard to believe that the order here was for "cheesy onion rings." Although technically yes, those are rings of onion mixed in with chunks of cheese, this is clearly not the dish that the customer had in mind.

Some Words Just Sound Alike

Redditor ScoobySoup shared this hilarious photo of a food order gone wrong. This one was due to the way their girlfriend speaks. "My girlfriend ordered 'A side of fries' with a southern accent," they wrote.

It's pretty easy to see what happened here. "Asada fries" and "a side of fries" sure sound a lot alike. But the girlfriend probably didn't want meat on her fries, and that's what "asada" means.

Tomato Face

"I ordered a tomato salad with feta cheese and I got this," wrote Twitter user Miss A. We just can't get over how much this kind of thing happens without the employee even seeming to raise an eyebrow.

So the person preparing the food just went ahead and started making a little face out of a tomato without thinking to ask whether this is what the customer had in mind? Okaaaaaay.

Not Very Dippable

This one is apparently common at some Taco Bell restaurants, if Reddit threads are accurate. It's hard to believe, but as user Mr.Horse77 said, you have to actually say "side of nacho cheese" or you will get this."

Really? Someone who works at a Taco Bell didn't know this already? That this isn't the kind of cheese that you dip tortilla chips into? We're honestly stunned. Maybe that's why Taco Bell had to pull some of its items off the menu.

An Extra Cup I Can Actually Use, Please

As far as screwy food orders, this one's pretty easy to fix. The customer asked if they could have an extra cup with their Coke, "for the kids." We're not sure why that extra cup came inside the larger cup like the back of some kind of Skee-ball game.

Another Redditor had a good solution for the problem: "Ready made kid-sized coke; just pull it out of the mother cup." It'll probably be messy, but that's what napkins are for!

Fruit "Salad"

At least the person who got this ridiculous plate of food doesn't have to worry about whether the restaurant employee who prepared it had washed their hands or not.

After all, most of the food is still safe and sound inside the peels. Now they just need to peel everything, cut it up, arrange it nicely on the plate, and enjoy that "fruit salad" that they paid for. We hope they toss that one half-eaten banana, though.

Blackened And Charred

Someone named Holly was so irritated with her Tim Hortons order that she complained about it on Twitter. She was definitely right to be ticked off... she ordered her bagel "extra toasted" and this is the charred item that was handed to her.

This looks like you could chip a tooth on it if you weren't careful. That is, if you decided to actually try and eat it. Which we wouldn't.

This person said they ordered a cup of coffee with Bailey's in it -- Baileys being that delicious Irish cream liqueur with a 17% alcohol content per volume. If you've ever had one, you'll know that coffee with Baileys is a nice, warm treat for adults to enjoy responsibly.

The person who served this ridiculous "drink" must have misheard "Baileys" for "bay leaves." Wouldn't you ask the customer if you'd heard that correctly before bringing this out?

"Double Pepperoni"

Now that is enough pepperoni to cover a dozen normal pizzas. The person who ended up with this meat-heavy pie said that they had just ordered "double pepperoni" on their pizza. We'd guess that was more like "triple" or "quadruple" but apparently, this restaurant doesn't mess around when it comes to toppings.

We just wonder how they can afford to give away so much pepperoni -- that stuff can get expensive!

Photos like this one, showing a glorious swirl of vanilla ice cream between two... hamburger buns... were going viral for while and it's easy to see why. A Twitter profile claiming to be a "Secret McDonald's Account" claimed that this is an item off the fast-food chain's secret menu.

This hasn't been verified, but it's kind of hard to believe that the restaurant would offer something so strange unless it was meant as a joke. The person who shared this particular pic said, "I went to McDonald's and ordered an 'ice-cream sandwich’ out of boredom. They delivered."

The Twitter user who shared this one claims that they just asked for "a little bit of mango salsa," and this is what they were handed.

It truly is a "bit" of mango, so they can't really complain. It's technically correct. It's just not something you could actually eat... that thing is so small you probably can't even taste it. It might look cute sitting on top of a piece of chicken or something though.

"Only Ketchup"

"Ordered a cheeseburger with only ketchup. This is what I got." Well, the restaurant got the ketchup part right! That's a good start.

All they needed to do to ace this food order was add a burger patty with cheese to the ketchup. That would have made it a true "cheeseburger with only ketchup." Better luck getting things right next time. We hope the person who shared this got some real food to eat.

Many of us have gotten used to ordering groceries online, especially over the past year or so. Some of us are clearly still learning the ropes, however.

Take Nick Snaith, who shared his shopping fail on Twitter. He thought he was just ordering eight carrots, but instead wound up with eight BAGS of carrots. At least he has a sense of humor about it: "Anyone for a fresh carrot juice?!" #onlineshoppingfail

Sour Cream "On The Side"

We suspect that some of these restaurant employees are being smart-alecks with their customers. When this person requested a taco with sour cream on the side, they certainly didn't mean for the condiment to be smeared on the side of the taco shell like this.

But you could interpret the order literally and that's just what the Taco Bell employee did, so they spread a little sour cream right there on the side. At least it's still edible.

A "side of chips" doesn't usually mean a box of chocolate chips, but that's exactly what one Twitter user received. "Just Got Bella Italia Delivered. I Ordered A Side Of Chips To Come With It. What I Actually Got Was A Side Of Chocolate Chips."

Oh my. Why the restaurant would think that they meant chocolate chips vs the salty kind is anyone's guess. Since they're an Italian place, maybe they don't serve chips? That's our best guess.

So eight cheesecakes it was... it's super lucky that she only sent them individual slices of the dessert instead of entire cheesecakes! They'd have to set up a lemonade and cheesecake stand or something to get rid of all of it.

We're starting to wonder why Taco Bell has made so many appearances on this list. This bizarre concoction comes courtesy of a Reddit user who shared that they did place a "special order" from the fast-food restaurant.

They also advised that you should never make a special order from Taco Bell because you might end up with something almost as bad. We don't want any wrappers tucked into our chalupas, so we'll pay attention to that advice.

Bean Burger Or Slippy Joe?

The hungry customer who ordered a "bean burger" was no doubt picturing a sandwich patty made from beans, aka a veggie burger. Something you could put lettuce, tomato, and maybe a pickle on.

No way they meant to pour a can of baked beans on a hamburger bun and serve it. If you look closely, you'll see that the server even brought a side of ketchup... as if there's anywhere to put it.

"Top And Bottom" Meant Both Sides Of The Chicken, Not The Bread

This person said they wanted their chicken sandwich with mayo on the "top and the bottom," and that's what they got. Sadly, though, the employee who assembled this monster of a sandwich misunderstood and put the mayo on both sides of the bun instead of both sides of the filling.

Who in their right mind would want mayo on the outside of their sandwich? It doesn't make any sense... this would just be a messy, greasy disaster to try and pick up.
