Let’s come clean right off the bat. We’ve all lied, and many of us lie regularly. There are many different reasons to lie, and most of them are innocent and don’t make you a bad person at all. Little white lies about why you were four minutes late to a meeting or about how long you studied for a test are completely harmless.

On the other hand, some people are just pathological liars. Many of them are our friends which makes it even more difficult. There’s nothing more awkward than standing in an elevator with one other person. Both of you pretend that you’re very interested in the floor numbers rising. The only time you take your eyes off the numbers is when you glance down at your phone to pretend to text even though there’s no service.
