Harvard Grad To Life In Prison: The Unabomber’s Backstory Will Blow Your Mind

Ted Kaczynski — also known as the Unabomber — is a name that has gone down in history as one of the worst domestic terrorists America has ever seen. Kaczynski sent sixteen bombs to seemingly random targets and kept the entire nation terrified for more than seventeen years.

The recent release of Netflix’s Manhunt: Unabomber has shown a completely different side of Kaczynski. In the series, he is not only the domestic terrorist, but also a complicated man with hurt feelings, inner demons, and a conflicting sense of wrong and right. How can a hermit with a high IQ lead FBI agents on the longest investigation in history? These facts about the Unabomber are heartbreaking and horrifying.

For years, all America knew about the Unabomber’s identity was from a single sketch artist’s rendition. The sketch was created in 1987 and circulated until his capture, but it took on a life of its own, becoming a favorite image for t-shirts, graffiti artists, and anyone anti-establishment.

The sketch was widely debated over the years. Many think it looks more like the sketch artist that Kaczynski. It doesn’t matter though because it didn’t help in his capture.
