It’s common for actors to learn bits and parts of new languages for roles so they can appear more convincing, but Forest Whitaker learned the entire Swahili language. Whitaker’s Swahili skills helped him win the Best Actor Oscar for the role of Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland.
