Avicii’s Life Reached Levels We’ve Never Seen Before In EDM
Tim Berling, better known by his stage name, Avicii, died at age 28 with his publicist confirming the death. Berling released music in the late 2000s at a time when DJs and producers would post music with feedback from their peers. In 2011, his single “Levels” reached No. 1 in his native Sweden and on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
Eventually, Berling decided to retire from touring with an emotional letter in March 2016, citing health reasons. He will forever be known as the DJ who took the EDM genre and became a mainstream success.

In an interview with VEVO, Avicii opened up about his earliest days in the electronic scene, including how he got his name.
Bergling explained that ‘Avici’ means the “lowest level of Buddhist hell.” However, the name was already taken on MySpace so Berling just added another ‘i’- hence, the name Avicii.
