Denver Hired Homeless People To Do Some Basic Labor Jobs And Helped Turn Their Lives Around

The city of Denver is trying something extraordinary to give a helping hand to their homeless population. Over the next year, Denver will be making paying jobs available for hundreds of people experiencing homelessness through a program called The Denver Day Works Program.

The program started on November 1st, 2017 and looks to run until next October. There’s no barriers or background checks involved — if you want to work then you’ll be welcomed to the program.

The Goal Is To Engage About 300 People…

The city of Denver hopes that 300 participate and about half of those do so regularly. The goal is that they gain work experience and will be able to find long-term employment with the city or elsewhere afterward. Danny Tims Jr, who is pictured above, has lived in a public park for the last month but was hired by the program not long ago.
