George Lucas And Steven Spielberg Are Actually The Worst Best Friends

Steven’s Three Oscars Beat George’s Zero Wins

All three of Spielberg’s Oscar wins came from the Best Director category. Lucas has been nominated, but he’s one of the best filmmakers never to win a golden statuette. It remains a mystery why Lucas has yet to win an Oscar, but both directors were sure to get their individual recognition.

They are recipients of the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award. It was no surprise to see Spielberg be the first of the two to receive the high honor in1995. Ten years later, it was Lucas’ turn to own the podium and give his acceptance speech for all of his miraculous achievements.
