While studying cinematography at the University of Southern California, Lucas caught the eye of Francis Ford Coppola. The famed director helped Lucas enter the film industry, observing the production of Finian’s Rainbow, and would leave a lasting impact on the aspiring film student.

Spielberg and Coppola were already acquitted with each other as they grew up together in the film industry. Of course, Coppola should be held accountable for crossing the paths of Spielberg and Lucas. If that never happened, who knows what could have been for movies.
