The legendary filmmakers have been in the business for so long that they’re billionaires. Spielberg’s net worth is $3.6 billion where Lucas’ net worth is $5.5 billion. Despite being overlooked by the Academy, Lucas was named to Forbes wealthiest person list of 2017.

With all the money in the world, both men sold their businesses. Spielberg would sell his studio, Dreamworks Animation, to Comcast for $3.8 billion in 2016. The force is still going strong for Lucas who sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012 for $4.1 billion while his family charitable foundation has surpassed the $1 billion mark.
