Hidden Talents Animals Use To Hunt That Show Us Mother Nature Is Cray

The animal world never ceases to amaze us. Just when you think that animals can’t get any weirder, cooler, or scarier, you stop and realize that they’ve managed to adapt and survive in dangerous situations for thousands of years. They do this by taking scary to the next level.

Animals big and small, on land and underwater, have all managed to create some pretty impressive defense and attack mechanisms. Some animals will actually break their own bones just to shank you. Strap yourself in for a wild ride and cross your fingers that you’ll never encounter any of these animals in real life.

The stonefish was already terrifying scientists, but then they found it has a secret switchblade hidden under its eye. This fish has a hidden “bony, blade-like” stick that it can flip up if it thinks it’s in any danger.

The stonefish spends most of its life camouflaged as a rock on coral reefs, but even though its just hanging out, it has a wide array of defense mechanisms. Alongside the switchblade, it’s exterior is sharp and jagged and, oh ya, they’re also the most venomous fish in the world. I’m not sure what happened to this fish in a past life, but it sounds like it’s been through some stuff.
