The Splash mermaid, Daryl Hannah hasn’t had this defect since birth, but she has had a shortened index finger for most of her life.

When she was three-years-old, she got too close to a water-well pulley at her grandmother’s house. Hannah will sometimes wear a prosthetic fingertip in movies.
