Clay Marzo is a surfing savant. Many fans consider him to be one of the most inventive surfers of his generation.

In 2007, he announced that he has autism spectrum disorder. He released a book about his life and his struggle with autism in 2015 called Just Add Water. He hopes the book will help people understand him and others like him.
