A church that was founded in 1984, the Solar Temple got its inspiration from the medieval Knights Templar. This “secret society” thought the world was going to end in 1990.

After they sacrificed an infant, 74 of their members committed suicide in 1994 during a ritual coined “The Last Supper.” The mass suicides happened in a variety of different places.
