The True Russian Orthodox Church was an offshoot of the Russian Orthodox Church that was founded in 2007. Under the guidance of Pytor Kuznetsov, 30 members lived in a cave until the end of times, which they believed would be in 2008.
They didn’t believe in things like credit cards and thought that barcodes were satanic. They said they would kill themselves if they were forced to move out of the cave. After two of their members died while underground, some of the members eventually left because of the fumes of the dead bodies.
