This Utah based church community was one of the largest fundamentalist mormon denominations. It was one of the largest organization to practice polygamy.
Under the leadership of founder Warren Jeffs, the LDS was in constant legal trouble as polygamy is illegal in all 50 states. Countless police raids on the community resulted in an abundance of charges for child labor, underage marriages, and sexual assault. During one raid, 439 children were removed from their community and held in child protective custody. Jeffs is currently serving 20 years to life sentence for being a child molester.
